COURSE: Accelerating Leadership
February 10, 2022
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Hybrid: Online and at UKGBC Offices (The Building Centre, 26 Store St, London WC1E 7BT)
Decarbonise Your Culture
What’s the toughest obstacle to achieving net zero in your business? Maybe it’s in materials, processes, design? How about your culture? One of the toughest obstacles leaders tell us they have is creating cultural conditions – the mindset and collective behaviour – they need to drive innovation and transformation at the speed their science-based targets demand.
This session will develop leaders’ skills for driving cultural transformation, such as designing effective systemic change programmes, leading from purpose and powerful storytelling. Bringing insights from neuroscience, psychology and applied research as well as live examples drawn from frontline experience in major organisations, you’ll leave with some potent tools to engage your organisation to accelerate action towards net zero.
In this workshop, we explore the need to accelerate sustainability leadership, and discuss the collaboration and behaviours needed to create systems change in our sector. This session aims to promote and provide greater reach and access to leadership insights wider than the UKGBC leadership programmes which target specific cohorts and associates’ outcomes.
An initial preview of the ‘UKGBC leadership companion’ – a playbook for sustainability leadership – will also be provided.
- Dr Alexandra Stubbings, Managing Director, Talik and Co.
- Larry Stubbings, Associate Director, Talik and Co.
Who should attend
This workshop is aimed to support all levels of leadership across the built environment to inject inspiration and learnings during these busy times.
At the end of the workshop, you will have had a whistle-stop tour through storytelling, influencing change, systems leadership as well as practical conversations around mindsets and behaviours needed to accelerate leadership in our sector. All of which we hope enables you as a leader to take new and more radical approaches.
The session will be run as a hybrid event, with the face-to-face component taking place at the UKGBC offices.
There are free Gold Leaf spaces available for this course. Email email@example.com to register.
